The PTA, Local Board and staff at Lindfield Primary Academy have been busy coordinating an exciting week of inspiration. For the third year running, a number of fabulous role models have been invited into the academy to share their knowledge, skills and profession! The children have taken part in workshops and assemblies throughout the week which have included scientific discovery with Jamie Baker, finding out about being a midwife with Sarah Syms and learning about life as a doctor with Dr Dymond and Dr Jones. It has been a wonderful week and so inspiring for us all to hear about the world of work and beyond. Our role models have kindly given up their time to inspire young minds and all have enjoyed their experience. Mr Baker who inspired the children to become scientists for the past three years said that it is a highlight of his year to see the awe and wonder on the children’s faces during his experiments.
Other activities enjoyed by our children have included: performing and recording songs, skyping a famous author, visiting doctors, bee keeping, cabin crew experience, police work, fire services, cycling, CSI, fair trade, alternative energy, journalism and nutrition health and fitness. We have had so many amazing role models visiting this year inspiring young minds and during our final assembly the children were wowed by a performance from our PTA choir. Parents and teachers at Lindfield had been inspired to form a choir after hearing wonderful performances from the skylarks and nightingales academy choirs. The children were so proud to have been role models themselves.
We would like to thank all of the volunteers who have given up their time to inspire and enthuse all children and teachers across our Academy. What an amazing week!
