The Burgess Hill Academy declares Christmas Shop Window Winner!
Students from The Burgess Hill Academy were privileged to be judges of local businesses Christmas window displays 2024!
3 students from the academy were selected to be judges, sitting alongside the Chair of Governors Jane Davey. In what was a well fought competition spanning 20 shops in the local vicinity, they had the tough choice of who was going to be crowned winner of this prize.
After much deliberation – and festive feels due to the incredible display and effort on show by all businesses – Franks American Diner was chosen to be star of the show and awarded first place.
Chair of the Governors Jane Davey quoted "Our fantastic students, from three different year groups, worked well together visiting every local business window entered in this annual competition. They judged creativity and whether the window was eye catching - both important when making their decision. The winner was announced at the switching on of the Town Christmas Lights ceremony on Saturday 23rd November and the trophy awarded. Once again our school is proud to be an important part of our local community".
A huge congratulations to all businesses who got involved this year in the festive displays, and to our student representatives for representing the academy in such high esteem.
