From September 2014 Lindfield Primary Academy implemented the New National Curriculum.
We believe in teaching a creative curriculum where children learn, practise, discuss, develop and refine a wide range of skills throughout their work. The children are encouraged to reflect on what they have learnt and how these skills can be applied to different subjects and real life situations.
Our main focus is on developing a range of skills in English and Mathematics.
Teaching and learning also takes place through a range of exciting topics. Our aim is to provide the children with a relevant and enjoyable experience which can extend and nurture their curiosity about the world in which they live. We place a great emphasis on the skills of questioning, communication and observation.
Our Curriculum Content
Our curriculum is broad and balanced and helps our children to develop as learners in many areas, including socially, spiritually and morally. Children learn under an umbrella of topic titles, which provide them with exciting and stimulating opportunities to discover and learn about the world around them, as well as equip them with lifelong skills.
Children have fabulous opportunities to learn through a range of different arts subjects, including art, music, design and technology, dance and drama.
Our topic titles enable children to make connections between subjects and develop their enjoyment of the curriculum, having our school values at the core of everything we do.
Our curriculum overview has been compiled to ensure that the 2014 National Curriculum is covered across the different year groups at our academy. More information about the curriculum can be found under individual year groups, where there is an outline of learning opportunities covered each term.
